Two new exhibitions opened yesterday at MoMA - Come check them out!
Featuring prints, artists’ books, and multiples from the Museum’s collection, this exhibition focuses on the print medium, highlighting ways in which abstraction has played a generative role in works of the past decade.
Over the course of two years, from 2008 to 2010, the artist Mateo López traveled through his native Colombia, making drawings and rendering the ordinary objects he encountered in precise detail. As members of exploratory expeditions and surveys, painters and draftsmen have long played key roles in the plotting and investigation of place. Taking López’s drawings as a starting point, this exhibition explores practices and works generated by walking and wandering.
